~Happy Independence Day~

I feel truly blessed to live in the country that I do, with all the freedoms and privileges I have, and I don't take them for granted.  I remember every day how truly lucky I am, and today serves as a reminder to us all that while we are far from perfect, and have a long way to go to be the kind of nation we ought to be, we are still fortunate to be living here and now.   Let us celebrate our Independence and be joyful in our celebrations.

             HAPPY 4th Of July!!

Now we are not the only ones who celebrate the holidy, and so I give to you a spectacular fireworks display for 2010 from Sydney!

Now I don't know when or where this one was taken, but it is a finale with the 1812 Overture which just happens to be one of my favorites!

This is a video of the largest fireworks shell ever to be set off. Japan 2007

I wish you all a very happy day today and everyday.

  1. Another great post and I agree wholeheartedly. We are all so fortunate to live here, even with all the imperfections.

This article is in today's Pensacola News Journal:
"Without a shred of eyewitness evidence, a Pensacola Beach resident has posted a video titled "Pensacola Beach Oil Tar Cover up." He too strongly believes that BP is hauling in sand of a different color to bury oil on the beach instead of cleaning it up.

But a University of South Florida geologist who has studied Pensacola Beach extensively since Hurricane Ivan in 2004, has seen the videos, heard the rumors and dismissed them as bunk.

"It's completely false. Nobody is burying oil," Rip Kirby told a News Journal reporter this week. "I know the process by which the oil has been covered by wave action."

Kirby blames the discolored sand on Mother Nature.

Now, the question is, whom are we going to believe: An uninformed, unscientific video by a beach-combing, angry citizen and a shoot-from-the hip politician or a trained, educated professor of geology?

Conspiracy theorists are doing a disservice and making matters worse when they spread rumors without any real proof to back up their claims."

The whole article is written by columnist Dogan and can be read at PNJ.com. Sorry I don't know how to link to it.
Just a little bit more reality to counter the rumors and fear.
Hope you have a great 4th.

  2. Thanks for the heads up. I found the article. Good work my friend, as this is the kind of information that we need to get out there. The conspiracy theorists are doing a HUGE disservice to people by making things like this up.

We have more than ample reason to be upset and angry with what BP has done, there is no need to make up things.

I hope you have a great 4th as well.
